1850
Panayot Volov is born in Shumen, Ottoman Empire, into a craftsman's family. Father Vicho Simeonov, mother Vasilka.
1862–1865
Studies at the village school under Iliya Blaskov, then at the Shumen secondary school under Dobri Voynikov and Todor Ikonomov.
1869–1873
Continues education in Bucharest, Bolgrad, Odessa, and Nikolaev. Studies at the South Slavic Boarding School in Nikolaev but leaves six months before graduation due to illness.
August 1874
Attends a BRCC meeting in Bucharest. Elected chairman of the Shumen Private Revolutionary Committee.
Builds committees in 14 settlements
Autumn 1874
Guides Russian Colonel Georgiy Bobrikov on secret reconnaissance tours of Ottoman fortifications.
Early 1875
Arrested over a conflict with foreign engineers. Leads a protest defending Vasilka Konstantinova.
September 1875
Participates in preparation for the Stara Zagora Uprising. Appointed apostle for Lovech District. Crosses the Danube through Nikopol.
November 11, 1875
Co-founds the Giurgiu Revolutionary Committee with Zaimov, Obretenov, and Karaminkov-Bunito.
Elected chief apostle of the IV Revolutionary District (Plovdiv)
April 14, 1876
The Oborishte Assembly - final meeting of the apostles before the uprising.
Benkovski confirmed as chief apostle, Volov as deputy
April 20, 1876
The April Uprising erupts. Volov is in Panagyurishte, forms a detachment of 150 men.
Kableshkov sends the 'Bloody Letter'
April 23–28, 1876
Volov leads military operations at Strelcha, Klisura, and Zli Dol. Deploys a cherry-tree cannon. Arrives to help besieged Klisura with 60–65 men.
May 1876
Retreat toward the Troyan Balkans. The band dwindles from 100 to 12 men. Kableshkov is captured near Troyan.
May 26, 1876
Panayot Volov dies near Byala - wounded after betrayal, drowns in the Yantra River at age 26.

1877–1878
Russo-Turkish War - a direct consequence of the April Uprising.
Bulgaria is liberated. Volov's sacrifice was not in vain.
